Our Philosophy

Our goal in breeding Pumi is to continue to preserve the essence of the breed as written about in the standard. We want to have dogs that are great representatives of the breed in any country that they are living in and fit into an active family home. Some breeders prioritize selling Pumi to “show homes” over “pet homes,” but not us. We believe that everyone should be entitled to a beautiful, show-stopping pet, not just those that want to compete. All of our Pumi are the kind of dogs that stop strangers in their tracks while you are out on a walk with the question “What kind of dog is that?!”

Temperament, type, soundness—three qualities that I believe must be combined to produce the style of Pumi that I want my program to be known for. Our dogs must first be exceptional pets, as a good temperament is the foundation of a sound dog.We believe that our dogs MUST be able to thrive in any environment. Type is what differentiates the Pumi from other breeds and is inherent to what we love most about their look. Type is what draws us to the Pumi, as opposed to the Golden Retriever or the Standard Poodle. It is the culmination of qualities that makes us love “Pumi”. Soundness is the structure upon which our type exists. Balanced angulation and clean movement are priorities in our puppies.

We complete all health testing required of the Hungarian Pumi Club of America and submit the results to the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals. We believe that our breeding dogs should also prove themselves in competition. This can be by earning a conformation Championship title or by earning performance titles. These awards are not a guarantee of greatness, but show a dedication to achieving excellence and well-rounded dogs.

All our dogs are family dogs first and live in our home with us. This limits the amount of dogs that are in our program at any given time. We co-own certain special dogs with others in the spirit of improving the breed and with the intention of providing each dog with the kind of individual attention that we believe they are entitled to.

I am a member for the Hungarian Pumi Club of America, the Chinese Shar-Pei Club of America, and the Magnolia Pumi Club of North Carolina. I have been the Secretary of the Pumi Club of America since 2024. I served on the HPCA Nominating Committee for multiple years. I was the National Show Chair for the HPCA in 2020 and 2021.
