Our Process

Check under our upcoming litters page and see if there are any pairings that you might be interested in. We are not a high volume breeder. We believe only in breeding the highest quality dogs to preserve the most important Pumi qualities. We occasionally have or know of older dogs that are looking for their forever homes. If this is something you are interested in, make sure to note it on your application.

Our Puppy Application was created to convey information to us about you and what you are looking for in a puppy. We do our best to match our puppies to their perfect family. This means we often wait until 7-8 weeks of age before making a final decision on where each puppy will ultimately end up. We take everything into consideration: household size, other pets, amount of free time, dog owning experience, puppy temperament and structure, and desires for color and gender. We believe that everyone is entitled to a beautiful, happy, healthy puppy, and we do our best to set our new families up for success. The puppy that has the temperament and energy for high-octane agility competitions is not going to be the same puppy that is perfect for a new owner with very young children. We know the perfect puppy is out there for everyone; it’s just a matter of figuring out where each puppy goes!

After submitting your application, we will place you on our Puppy Waitlist. When we have an upcoming litter that we believe will match your requests, we will notify you at the time of the breeding. If you are not ready, that’s okay! We will make a note and keep you on the waitlist until the right litter is available. As the breeder we make all the puppy placement decisions with your best interest in mind. We are not first come, first served. If we have a puppy that is the perfect fit for you, we will move you up the wait-list when spots become available. The less requirements you have for a puppy, the easier it is to find the one. Homes without color and gender requests are more likely to receive a puppy sooner than homes that have specific requests simply due to availability.

We accept a limited number of refundable deposits when we confirm the litter via ultrasound. This gets you a space on the litter specific waitlist and shows a committed interest in taking home a puppy. If you change your mind at any point up until go-home day, this will be refunded to you. We similarly reserve the right to refund this deposit up until pick up. If we do not have the right puppy in this litter for you, we can refund your deposit or carry it over into the next litter per your request. We never want our new owners to feel pressured into bringing home a puppy if they are unsure. There are no negative repercussions on our side if you decide to wait, but we do ask you to inform us of any deal-breakers for you when the deposit is paid. This deposit is variable depending on the litter and the final purchase price. The deposit will be deducted from the final payment amount. All our payments are to be made in cash or via zelle. The final contract will be signed in person on go-home day and is when payment will be expected in full. We do not offer payment plans.

Puppy go-home day is the best day! We will let you know which puppy has been handpicked for you when they are between 7-8 weeks old. Once homes have been decided, we will schedule a pick-up day between 8-10 weeks of age. We ask that families plan on spending at least an hour at our house to complete final contracts, discuss any genetic testing and temperament testing, fill out registration information, and so that we can answer any last minute questions. Our support doesn’t end when you walk out the door: we are here to answer questions and give advice for your and your puppy for their whole life! We can’t wait to see the great adventures you and your puppy will have in your future together.
